Rights groups say the ban, if confirmed by the government, infringes Thailand’s Constitution regarding the Gender Equality Act. Sutharee Wannasir, human rights specialist with @FortifyRights told RFI’s Alison Hird it will also affect police efficiency in dealing with sexual abuse cases.
