Videos in response to recent surge in violence between Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims in Arakan State, Myanmar (Burma). The Rohingya have no rights under Burmese law, and are often extremely poor and marginalized in Arakan State.

Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have attempted to escape to other countries, mostly to neighboring Bangladesh, but Bangladesh has very little to offer them, and sometimes even turns them back.

Several human rights organizations have already warned about a potential genocide of the Rohingya.

Petition to Bangladeshi Government

Restless Beings, a UK-based charity, has been very actively campaigning on behalf of the Rohingya for some time. They have created an online petition calling upon the government of Bangladesh to stop refusing entry to Rohingya refugees fleeing the violence and persecution in Myanmar.

Please take a minute to sign the petition, so desperate people with nowhere else to turn can at least find some small measure of sanctuary.
