Morning Star Flag raising ceremony at Tingginambut in the highlands of West Papua on November 30th. The Morning Star flag was raised throughout West Papua on December 1st to commemorate the 50th anniversary of West Papua’s promised independence from the Netherlands. Alas, greedy mining companies like Freeport-McMoran colluded with top US politicians like Henry Kissinger to support an Indonesian invasion and colonial occupation of West Papua. For the past 50 years indigenous Papuans have been paying the price for this backroom deal.
