In 2014, students from Prince of Songkla University advocated for peace in conflict-torn south Thailand. In fact on many occasions, students and young people take the lead in championing for justice, human rights and for the Patani social identity.
Society, pressure groups, politicians and the military should take heed of the aspirations and courage of young people. By enabling youths to actively plan, participate and monitor peace-building and rights-based programs, may we see a reduction in vulnerability, and long-term peace.
