Andrea Santoyo Galvan was born in Mexico City. At 18 she traveled to Europe where she studied drawing. In 2001 she studied political science in Paris. In 2004, she settled in Berlin. She continues to work, Influenced by artists such as Thomas Sturm and Naan Hoover.
Her work reflects a strong presence of social problems like poverty and war, ethnic differences and migration. Andrea Santoyo searches through her art to show the state of the world today, a populated world of individuals contending with ever-evolving social dynamics.
